Project Update

Well so far 3 videos have been created (unfortunately due to the permissions of the people involved in the 3rd video, "Our Education, Our Future", it can't be made avaliable here). The collection of images for the 4th video is growing as you can see by scrolling down this page! But more images are needed!! Please email any contributions to Phillipa@myriadit.net

I've mentioned that I drew some inspiration from the canadian Antigone magazine. I also submitted some of the images I created for this project to their project, and now two of the submissions have been nominated to possibly become part of a calender to be made later this year! Check out the other options and voting process over at http://antigonemagazine.blogspot.com

PostGuides

Firstly I have to acknowledge that the inspiration for this idea came from a combination of postsecret.blogspot.com/ and www.antigonemagazine.blogspot.com/.

Now the idea: to depict our dreams for the future of Guiding, the future of our world, and statments of what Guiding has helped us to achieve through homemade postcards. Any submissions I receive I will publish here. So please draw, glue, rip, cut and arrange any dreams you might have and send them to phillipa[at]myriadit.net!

Introduction and Aim

Well, this is my first post about my Community Action project that I am doing for my Queen's Guide Award. The plan for my project is:

Practical: Using video to put across young people’s views on the issues which affect us.

Aims of Practical Project:

- To run sessions on a variety of 4 topics with local groups (to gather information/material). (Poverty + World Development, Bullying, Self Esteem, Binge Drinking)

- To produce short videos giving young people’s perspective on issues affecting them.

- To give the videos as wide an audience as possible including airing via the internet and at events.

Research: Looking into the use of Youth Participation in the issues which affect our lives.

Aims of Research Project:

- To find out what youth participation systems exist at local, national and international levels.

- To discuss with other young people their views on a variety of issues which affect them.
